Despite closing 450 Speedway stores, Dunkin' quickly filled the gaps with new NextGen stores that focus on digital integration and streamlined ordering. Same-store sales achieved impressive double-digit growth, and average unit volume increased to $1.2 million. To reduce environmental impact, the brand has replaced polystyrene cups with standard-certified double-walled paper cups. Compostable straws made from canola oil and wooden stir-sticks have also been introduced.
