9. Charred Meat
Grilling is a quick way to whip up a meal and it's obviously a summer staple. However, cooking steaks and other proteins at such high temperatures over an open flame can easily produce charred meat, which generates heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). These harmful chemicals have been found to alter the DNA and increase your risk of getting cancer.
