Coke usually tastes better when it's chilled, and McDonald's makes sure the temperature stays chilled throughout the entire Coke process. Firstly, the water used is pre-cooled before it is carbonated, and the stainless steel tanks effectively control the temperature of the syrup. So every McDonald's Coke is refreshing, even if you choose not to add ice.
