Is low-fat healthier than full-fat?

Starting from the 1970s and 1980s, full-fat dairy products have been associated with many negative health effects because of their high saturated fat content. Though the U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend low-fat dairy to prevent cardiovascular disease, recent studies suggest otherwise. Scientists proposed that saturated fatty acids in cheese may have a protective effect on the heart, unlike those found in red meat.
