1. Eggs: 3-4 weeks past expiration date

Eggs are probably the most-mentioned staple that people fail to use up before the expiration date. In fact, eggs are perishable and wouldn't go bad quickly. Kept in the fridge at 40 degrees F, they can be safely consumed for a month or so after packaging. Still boggling at the idea of whether they've gone wrong? Place the egg in water to check its buoyancy: if it sinks, it's no big deal; if it floats, toss them into the trash right away!
