More caffeine doesn't mean better results. A study found that a second cup of coffee produced no further benefits unless it was consumed at least 8 hours after the first cup, considering a daily intake of 400 mg of caffeine to be safe, which amounts to 2 – 4 cups of coffee per day. And for some specific groups, such as pregnant women, they should limit their daily intake to 200 mg, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
