How to pick: Different varieties of apples have different flavors. The general rule is to look for firm and plump apples of moderate sizes, with smooth, matt, unbroken skin and no bruises. Blemishes or streaks will not negatively affect the flavor, and the color is not a way to judge the ripeness of an apple.
