Peak season: year-round for lemons; May to October for limes
How to pick: Lemons and limes should be brightly colored and in good shape with smooth, thin skin. They should feel firm but will bend slightly when squeezed. Small brown spots on the lemon will not affect the flavor but better put down those with a hint of green.
