What is a kidney stone?
Kidney stones tend to form when a person's urine output decreases significantly. As the urine output decreases, various minerals will gradually accumulate in the kidneys.
A range of factors can cause kidney stones, including the following dietary factors:
- high oxalate intake from certain foods
- a high protein diet
- too much sodium
- dehydration or low fluid intake
