Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Town Food Service Equipment Co., Inc. of Brooklyn, N.Y., has recalled four models of Town brand aluminum saucepans because they may leach lead into food, posing a risk of lead exposure that can harm people of any age, especially children and fetuses. Consumers should stop using the saucepans immediately and not consume food prepared in them.
The recall covers four saucepan sizes with item numbers and corresponding lot code(s)/SKU as follows: 35400 (1 qt, lot code(s) SKU 843784003559), 35401 (1.5 qt, lot code(s) SKU 843784003566), 35402 (2 qt, lot code(s) SKU 843784003573), and 35403 (3 qt, lot code(s) SKU 843784003580). The pans, which have indented interior graduations and plated steel riveted handles, have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and through authorized food service equipment dealers in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, WA, WV, Puerto Rico and Quebec City, Canada, and have been sold since Jan. 1, 2023, through Nov. 30, 2025.
Town Food has ceased production and distribution while the FDA and the company continue their investigation; no illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers should return affected items to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of them following retailer instructions, and may request a refund or replacement.
