Recall Details
River Falls, Wis., Jan. 14, 2026 — Jack and the Green Sprouts, Inc. has recalled 5-ounce packages of Alfalfa and Alfalfa Onion sprouts because routine company testing has detected Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, and can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. Consumers should stop using the products immediately and not eat them.
The recalled items are sold in clear 5-ounce plastic packages marked with lot code(s) #300 (UPC 763247198915) and #246 (UPC 763247195945). The sprouts have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers, and previously were distributed in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa at grocery stores and local co-ops.
Consumers should discard the products or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund; those seeking a replacement or refund may contact Jack and the Green Sprouts, Inc. at 715-425-9495, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., or email [email protected] (please check retailer or company website for the correct address). Production has been suspended while the company investigates the source of contamination; no illnesses have been reported to date.
