Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — General Mills has recalled select Gold Medal All Purpose Flour products because of a potential Salmonella Infantis contamination and is urging consumers to stop using the affected products immediately and not to eat raw dough or batter made with flour. The company cites routine sampling that identified the pathogen in a five-pound package and warns that salmonella can cause nausea, diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps; anyone who suspects illness should contact a physician.
The recall covers specific lot code(s) and package UPCs of Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour (5 lb, UPC 000-16000-19610; 10 lb, UPC 000-16000-19580) and Gold Medal Bleached All Purpose Flour (2 lb, UPC 000-16000-10710; 5 lb, UPC 000-16000-10610) with "better if used by" dates of March 27, 2024 and March 28, 2024. These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; consumers should check pantry labels carefully to determine if their package is included in the recall.
Consumers should dispose of recalled packages or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement and should thoroughly clean any surfaces, utensils and hands that have contacted the flour. Those seeking a refund, replacement or additional information may email General Mills Consumer Relations at [email protected] or call 1-800-230-8103; if you need more details about affected codes or retailers, check the company’s website or FDA/Centers for Disease Control guidance pages.
