Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Neuhaus Chocolates NV has recalled Belgian Chocolate Moments Smurfs “Popping Milk Chocolates with Cookies” because the product contains undeclared wheat, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions for people with wheat allergy or severe sensitivity. Consumers who are allergic or intolerant to wheat should stop using the product immediately and should not eat it.
The recalled items are identified by lot code(s) 80108690 and 80108763 with a best‑before date of Jan. 13, 2026. The chocolates have been sold since July 21, 2025, through Neuhaus stores in New York, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., and online at the Neuhaus webshop. Approximately 150 units were sold during the short distribution period; no illnesses or complaints have been reported to date.
Consumers should return the product to the point of purchase for a refund or request a replacement through Neuhaus customer service; alternatively the product may be safely disposed of if returning is not feasible.
