Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Gibson Farms has recalled Organic Light Halves and Pieces shelled walnuts because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, a pathogen that can cause severe diarrheal illness and, in some cases, hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). Consumers should not eat these walnuts and should stop using them immediately; affected products should be isolated from other foods to prevent cross‑contamination and disposed of or returned as instructed below.
The recalled items are Gibson Farms Organic Light Halves and Pieces shelled walnuts, identified by lot code(s) 3325-043 and 3341-501 with expiration dates 5/21/25 and 6/7/25. The walnuts have been sold in Net Wt. 25 lb bulk boxes and were distributed to distributors in California and Washington; they have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers (some products may have been repacked or sold in bulk). Consumers should check product packaging for the lot code(s) and expiration dates to determine whether their product is included in the recall.
Customers may dispose of recalled product in sealed bags or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement; retailers and distributors are asked to hold and discontinue sale of the listed lot code(s), sanitize bulk bins before refilling, and notify downstream customers. For assistance or to report possible exposure or illness, contact Gibson Farms food safety at [email protected] or call 831-637-3512, Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:40 p.m. PST. If you cannot locate lot information or need further guidance, consult your retailer or the USDA/FDA recall notices for complete identification details.
