Update: Quaker Issues Revised Recall Notice with Additional Products Due to Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — The Quaker Oats Company has recalled multiple granola bars, cereal bars, cereals and snack items because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea and more serious infections in vulnerable people. Consumers are advised to stop using the listed products immediately and either dispose of them or seek a refund or replacement; do not eat products that match the descriptions below.

The recalled items include specific Quaker Chewy Granola Bars (various flavors), Quaker Chewy Granola Breakfast Cereals, Quaker Oatmeal Squares (Cinnamon, Brown Sugar, Honey Nut), Cap’n Crunch branded cereal and instant oatmeal, Cap’n Crunch Treats bars, Gatorade Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate bars and Munchies Snack Mix among others. Lot code(s) and UPC/“best before” date ranges are provided for each product on the company recall list; examples include Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Yogurt Strawberry (lot code(s) with “best before” dates between Jan. 11, 2024 and Oct. 1, 2024), Cap’n Crunch Treats Crunch Berries Cereal Bar (best before dates Jan. 11, 2024 through Oct. 31, 2024), and Gatorade Protein Bar Peanut Butter Chocolate (JAN 11 24 through APR 10 24). These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should check the company’s full recall list for exact lot code(s) and date ranges for each item).
