Raleigh, N.C., May 15, 2026 — Sugar Foods LLC has recalled specific lots of Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons (5 oz pouches, UPC 0 11110 81353 4) because the milk powder used in the product’s seasoning may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can cause serious illness, especially in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems; consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately.
The recall covers Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons, 5 oz, UPC 0 11110 81353 4, with the following lot code(s)/use‑by dates: BEST IF USED BY FEB 17 27; FEB 18 27; FEB 27 27; FEB 28 27; MAR 6 27; MAR 9 27; MAR 21 27; APR 1 27; and APR 7 27. These products have been sold since March 7, 2026, online and at select U.S. retailers, and were distributed to Kroger stores in AL, AR, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, OH, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI and WV between March 7, 2026 and April 7, 2026.
Consumers who purchased affected lots should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
