Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Ambriola Company has issued a Class I recall for select pecorino romano cheese products used in Boar’s Head–branded items because of potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers are advised not to eat the affected products and should stop using them immediately; discard or return them to the place of purchase. No illnesses linked to the Supreme Deli-distributed items have been reported to date.
The recalled products include Boar’s Head Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese (Item Code 858; lot code(s) Sell‑by Dates 11/21/25–3/12/26; Case UPC 04242105858) and FS Grated Romano Cheese (Item Code 15119; lot code(s) Sell‑by Dates 11/21/25–3/12/26; Case UPC 04242115119). Ambriola has also prompted Boar’s Head to withdraw additional Ambriola‑produced items as a precaution, including Pre‑cut Pecorino Romano (Item Code 15160; lot code(s) Sell‑by Dates 11/25/25–5/11/26; Case UPC 04242115160). The affected and withdrawn products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including Kroger stores in Kentucky and Indiana, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 (consumers should check product labels and sell‑by dates against the lot code(s) above).
Consumers should dispose of or return affected products for a refund or replacement and should not attempt to consume them; if unsure, discard the item.
