Elite Treats LLC Recalls Single Lot of Chicken Chips Due to Salmonella Contamination

Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 24, 2026 — Elite Treats, LLC of Boca Raton, Fla., has recalled a single lot of Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs 6-ounce bags because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause illness in pets and people. Consumers who have these products should stop using them immediately and not feed them to pets; do not sell or donate the recalled product. The company warns that handling contaminated product, contact with pets that have eaten it, or contact with contaminated surfaces can expose people to Salmonella, which can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever and more serious complications in vulnerable individuals.

The recall applies to Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs in 6-ounce black-and-gold bags marked on the back with lot code(s) 24045 and an expiration date of 04/2027. The product have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers through Florida Hardware, LLC, which distributed to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. No human or animal illnesses have been reported to date; the contamination was identified after third-party laboratory testing of a related, commercially unreleased lot.

Consumers should dispose of or return affected bags so that children, pets and wildlife cannot access them, and should wash and sanitize pet food bowls, utensils, surfaces and their hands after handling the product.
