Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 8, 2024 — Bristol Farms has recalled its Chicken Taco Kit (9 oz) because the kit’s Chipotle Crema sauce cup may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and others with weakened immune systems; consumers should stop using the product immediately and do not eat it. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.
The recall covers Chicken Taco Kit, UPC 207490 509994, net wt. 9 oz, lot code(s): Sell by 1/18/24. The Chipotle Crema sauce cup was produced using cotija cheese that was part of a Rizo-López Foods, Inc. dairy recall announced Feb. 5, 2024. Affected kits have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, primarily Bristol Farms stores in California, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2023; consumers should check packaging for the sell-by date and lot code(s) above.
Consumers who purchased the recalled Chicken Taco Kit should discard the product or return it to any Bristol Farms store for a full refund, or request a replacement by contacting Bristol Farms customer service at [email protected] or by phone at 310-233-4700 (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. PT).
