Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Rizo-López Foods and Fresh Creations Foods, in cooperation with the FDA, have recalled Chicken Street Taco Meal Kit units because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes; consumers should not eat these products and should stop using them immediately. The core risk is severe listeriosis, which can be fatal for young children, the elderly, pregnant people and those with weakened immune systems; no illnesses have been reported to date. The FDA is monitoring the recall and investigating a multistate outbreak linked to cheeses manufactured by Rizo-López Foods.

The recall applies to Chicken Street Taco Meal Kit (UPC 205916414990; lot code(s): Best by dates 11/29/2023–03/04/2024). The kits include crema cups prepared with the recalled cheese ingredient and have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including Sprouts stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. Consumers should check product labels and lot codes before handling.

Consumers who purchased the affected meal kits are urged to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund and to request a refund or replacement from the retailer. To reduce cross-contamination risk, thoroughly clean and sanitize any surfaces, utensils or containers that contacted the product. For questions or to report concerns, contact Sprouts Customer Relations at [email protected]; media inquiries may be sent to [email protected]. If you have symptoms or health concerns, contact a healthcare provider.
