Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — The Save Mart Companies have recalled Chicken Street Taco Kits sold in their Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California store delis because the kits include a crema sauce cup containing cotija cheese produced and recalled by Rizo‑Lopez Foods, creating a risk of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers are urged to stop using the kits immediately and do not eat the product; Listeria can cause serious or fatal infections in vulnerable populations and can cause miscarriage in pregnant women.
The recalled item is Chicken Street Taco Kits (approximate net weight 17 ounces) with UPC beginning with 278230; affected lot code(s) include all lot and date codes associated with kits assembled and packaged by in‑store delis. The kits have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers and in Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California stores in California and Nevada.
Consumers who purchased the kits should discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund and may request refund or replacement. For questions or to report concerns, contact The Save Mart Companies Customer Contact Center at (800) 692‑5710, Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–6 p.m., weekends and holidays 8 a.m.–4 p.m., or email [email protected].
