Gardners Candies Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Tree Nuts in Cappuccino Meltaway® Bars and Gardners Meltaway Treat Boxes Containing Cappuccino Meltaway Bars

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Gardners Candies of Tyrone, Pa., has recalled its Gardners Candies brand Cappuccino Meltaway® Bars and Meltaway Treat Boxes because they may contain undeclared tree nuts (cashews), posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to consumers with tree nut allergies. Consumers who have these products should stop using and not eat them immediately and follow disposal or return instructions below.

The recall covers 1.25‑ounce (35 g) white plastic packages of Cappuccino Meltaway Bars stamped with lot code(s) 082725 (expiration date 08/27/25) and Meltaway Treat Boxes that include two Cappuccino Meltaway Bars marked with lot code(s) 101625 or 112525. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and by mail order through www.GardnersCandies.com and have been sold since Sept. 1, 2024. No illnesses have been reported to date, and production has been suspended while the company investigates and corrects the packaging breakdown that caused the undeclared allergen.
