Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Palmer Candy Company has recalled certain white-coated confectionary products, including Chocolate Caramel Corn and Candy Trays, because of possible Salmonella contamination linked to an ingredient from a supplier; consumers should stop using these products immediately and not eat them. The recall was initiated after Palmer Candy’s liquid coating supplier warned of a potential contamination risk. Salmonella can cause serious illness, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, and anyone who is ill after consuming the products should seek medical attention.
The recalled products are identified as Chocolate Caramel Corn (UPC 20942400000, 1/5 oz) and Candy Tray (UPC 20647600000, 1/25 oz) with sell‑through dates from August 26, 2024, up to and including September 12, 2024; these items have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers under the Albertsons Market, Amigos, Market Street and United banners in New Mexico and Texas. Lot code(s) are not specified in the original notice; consumers should check packaging and consult their retailer or the manufacturer for lot code(s) information.
Consumers who have these products should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, or contact Palmer Candy or the retailer to request a replacement or refund; retain proof of purchase if available. For questions, customers may contact Albertsons Companies’ Customer Service Center at 1-877-723-3929 (Monday–Friday, 5 a.m.–9 p.m. PST) or consult Palmer Candy’s consumer information channels and the FDA recall notice for updates.
