Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Raja Foods LLC of Skokie, Ill., has recalled its 3.5-ounce SWAD Cinnamon Powder because the product may be contaminated with lead, which can cause serious long-term health effects, especially in children; consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it. Short-term exposure to low lead levels may be asymptomatic, while prolonged or higher-level exposure can result in learning and developmental problems in children and kidney, cardiovascular and neurocognitive effects in adults.
The recall covers SWAD Brand Cinnamon Powder sold in clear 3.5 oz plastic bags, UPC 0-51179-34280-4, with lot code(s) KX21223 (Best Before July 2026) and KX08123 (Best Before March 2026). The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. The recall follows routine sampling by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; no illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumers who purchased the affected SWAD Cinnamon Powder should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or request a replacement following the retailer’s return policy.
