Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — AquaStar (USA) Corp. of Seattle has recalled approximately 26,460 packages of Cocktail Shrimp 6 oz because the product may be contaminated with cesium‑137, a man‑made radioisotope that can increase long‑term cancer risk after repeated low‑dose exposure. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it.
The affected product is Cocktail Shrimp 6 oz (UPC 19434612191) with lot code(s) 10662 5106, 10662 5107, 10662 5124, and 10662 5125 printed on the bottom of the clear plastic tray with a red and white label. The shrimp were sold refrigerated and have a 12‑day shelf life. They have been sold since July 31, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers, including Walmart stores in AK, AL, AR, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, OH, OK, OR, SD, TN, TX, WA, and WI, with various Best If Use By dates between July 31 and August 16, 2025.
Consumers who purchased the affected shrimp should dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund and avoid contact with other foods or surfaces until cleaned.
