Recall Details
Baltimore, Md., Jan. 14, 2026 — Atwater’s of Baltimore is voluntarily recalling 197 cookie tins because they contain cookies made with almonds, pecans, and walnuts that are not identified on the packaging, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions for consumers with tree‑nut allergies; consumers who have these tins should stop using them immediately and not eat the contents. No illnesses have been reported to date. The company says the mislabeled product was distributed due to a temporary breakdown in its labeling process.
The affected product is sold as “Atwater’s cookie tin” in a circular metal tin with a bow and an identifying label on the bottom; the affected lot code(s) are: 20251213A, 20251215B, and 20251220C. The tins have been sold since Dec. 13, 2025, and were distributed from Dec. 13, 2025, through Dec. 22, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers in Baltimore, Towson, and Catonsville, Md., and some units were gifted to three wholesalers.
Consumers should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or request a replacement; if unsure, they should not consume the product and should contact Atwater’s Customer Service at 410‑644‑3435 or email [email protected] for instructions on disposal, return, or reimbursement. Consumers with severe allergic reactions should seek immediate medical attention. For additional information, check the company’s website or contact local health authorities.
