County Road Seafood Issues Allergy Alert of Undeclared Egg in 4 Oz Packages of County Road Seafood Crab Cake

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — County Road Seafood, LLC of Belhaven, N.C., has voluntarily recalled its County Road Seafood Crab Cake 2-Pack (4-ounce) because the product contains undeclared egg, creating a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions for people with egg allergies or severe sensitivities; consumers who have purchased this product should stop using it immediately and not eat it. The company reports no illnesses to date.

The recalled product is identified as County Road Seafood Crab Cake 2-Pack, 4‑ounce, with no UPC or lot code(s) available. The product has been distributed to distributors and retail facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina and have been sold since Aug. 26, 2022 through May 9, 2024, online and at select U.S. retailers; the cakes are vacuum sealed in clear plastic. County Road Seafood was notified by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on May 15, 2024, that egg is not listed on the label despite the product containing mayonnaise and whole eggs as a binder.

Consumers with egg allergies or sensitivities who purchased the product are urged to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.
