Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company, LLC Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Almonds and Cashews in Mauna Loa Dark Chocolate Covered Macadamias (0.6OZ and 4OZ)

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company LLC of Kea’au, Hawaii, has voluntarily recalled Mauna Loa Dark Chocolate Covered Macadamias (0.6 oz and 4 oz bags) because the products may contain undeclared almonds and cashews, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to consumers with nut allergies; consumers with almond or cashew allergies should not eat the products and should stop using them immediately. The company says no illnesses have been reported to date and that it initiated the recall after its internal quality control identified the contamination in a batch manufactured by a third‑party co‑manufacturer.

The recalled items include Mauna Loa Dark Chocolate Covered Macadamias 0.6 oz bags (UPC 0 72992 05464 4) with lot code(s) K5069C1 and K5069C2 and best‑by date 10/2026, and 4 oz bags (UPC 0 72992 05556 6) with lot code(s) B4339E1 and B4340E1 and best‑by date 07/2026. The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Guam and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025.
