Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Consumers Supply Distributing, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa, has recalled 4 lb. bags of Country Vet Biscuits – Original Meaty Flavor and Heartland Harvest Dog Biscuits – Meaty Flavor with Chicken because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can sicken pets and pose a risk to humans who handle the products; consumers should stop using the products immediately and avoid contact with them. No human or pet illnesses have been reported to date. The company has ceased production and distribution of the affected lot while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the company investigate the cause.

The recalled products can be identified as: Country Vet Biscuits – Original Meaty Flavor, lot code(s) 40906513, UPC 899623000463, 4 lb. bag (best by 09/06/2026); and Heartland Harvest Dog Biscuits – Meaty Flavor with Chicken, lot code(s) 40906513, UPC 840227340691, 4 lb. bag (best by 09/06/2026). The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Montana and Nebraska and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; consumers should check packaging for the listed lot code(s) and UPCs before handling.
