Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Natureen International Inc. of Walnut, Calif., has recalled 244 bags of Wei-Chuan Dried Black Fungus Slice (2.5 oz. per bag) because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium that can cause fever, diarrhea, vomiting and, in severe cases, bloodstream infections. Consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately.
The recalled product is Wei-Chuan Dried Black Fungus Slice, sold in clear 2.5‑ounce bags marked with lot code(s) XJ17 and expiration date EXP:20260417. The product has been distributed online and at select U.S. retailers and supermarkets through direct delivery from the Wei‑Chuan Chicago branch in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025.
