Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — New Hoque & Sons Inc. of Maspeth, N.Y., has recalled packages of “Dry Ghoinnya Fish” because the product was found to be uneviscerated, creating a potential risk of botulism from Clostridium botulinum concentrated in fish viscera; consumers should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately. No illnesses have been reported to date, but people who experience symptoms such as dizziness, blurred or double vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, or trouble breathing should seek immediate medical attention.

The product has been distributed nationwide in retail stores and sold online and at select U.S. retailers; packages have been sold since May 19, 2025. The action follows routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets inspectors and laboratory analysis that found the fish were not properly eviscerated prior to processing.
