New Age International Recalls Signature Enoki Mushrooms Due to Potential Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — New Age International Inc. of Brooklyn, N.Y., has recalled 200 g (7.05 oz) packages of Signature Enoki Mushroom (Product of K Food/Korea Food Signature) because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems; pregnant women risk miscarriage or stillbirth. Consumers who have these products should not eat them and should stop using them immediately.

The recalled product is labeled as Signature Enoki Mushroom in a clear 200 g plastic package with lot code(s) GGN: 4063061794758 printed on the back label. The mushrooms have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and were sold since Aug. 1, 2025; the company reports distribution to a retail store and a distributor in New York City. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The contamination was identified after sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets inspectors and laboratory confirmation of L. monocytogenes; the company reports no remaining product from this batch in its warehouse. Consumers who purchased 200 g packages of Signature Enoki Mushroom from August to September 2025 are urged to destroy the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
