Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — JCB Flavors, LLC of Watertown, Wis., has voluntarily recalled select topical seasoning products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected products immediately and not to eat or use them.
The recall covers 1.6 oz retail containers sold under the Wildlife Seasoning brand and described as Popping Topping – Sour Cream & Onion with lot code(s) 057596 and UPC 0-31851-01001-6; the product has a best‑by date of 5/18/2027. These items have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. The recall follows identification of a milk powder ingredient used in these seasonings that is part of a voluntary recall by California Dairies, Inc.
Consumers should dispose of or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement by contacting JCB Flavors Customer Service at 1-920-390-7700 or via email at [email protected]; if unsure whether your product is included, check the lot code(s) on the container before discarding. No illnesses have been reported; third‑party testing of finished products has not detected contamination, but the company is taking precautionary action to protect consumers.
