Walmart Inc. Recalls Marketside Fresh Cut Cucumber Slices in Select Texas Stores Because of Possible Health Risk

Bentonville, Ark., May 22, 2025 — Walmart Inc. has voluntarily recalled Marketside Fresh Cut Cucumber Slices because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium that can cause serious illness; consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat, serve, sell, or distribute it. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these slices, but Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea and, in severe cases, bloodstream infections in vulnerable persons.

The recall covers Marketside Fresh Cut Cucumber Slices, UPC/PLU 62969, average unit weight 1.5 lbs, lot code(s): all date codes up to 5/24/2025. The product has been produced in select Walmart stores located in Texas and have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers since May 13, 2025, through May 20, 2025. The action follows a supplier recall of whole cucumbers by Bedner Growers, Inc. after an FDA traceback linked cucumbers to reported salmonellosis illnesses.
