Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 8, 2024 — Fresh Express has voluntarily recalled two salad kits because condiment packs included in the kits contain cheese that has been recalled by a supplier for potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen that can cause serious or fatal infections. Consumers should stop using the affected salad kits and condiment packs immediately and not eat them; those who have already consumed the products and have symptoms of listeriosis should seek medical attention.
The recalled products are Marketside Southwest Chopped Salad Kit (lot code(s): G364, G002; use-by dates: Jan. 14 and Jan. 17, 2024; condiment pack use-by date: Mar. 3, 2024) and Fresh Express Salsa! Ensalada Salad Kit (lot code(s): S353 to S363, S002 to S033; product use-by dates: Jan. 6–Jan. 18, 2024 and Jan. 21–Feb. 20, 2024; condiment pack use-by dates: Feb. 28–Apr. 4, 2024). These kits have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in limited quantities in AL, CA, FL, GA, ID, UT and WA and have been sold since Jan. 6, 2024.
Consumers should discard or return the recalled kits and condiment packs to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement; do not consume or save the condiment packs for later use. For questions or to obtain a refund, contact the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center at [email protected] or call (800) 242-5472, 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Eastern Time. If specific lot codes or distribution details are not visible on packaging, consumers should check their receipts or contact the retailer for verification.
