Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Lawrence Wholesale LLC of Vernon, Calif., has recalled a limited quantity of Kroger bagged frozen shrimp and Kroger frozen shrimp products because they may have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions and could be contaminated with the man-made radioisotope cesium-137 (Cs-137). Consumers are advised not to eat these products and should stop using them immediately due to a potential long-term cancer risk from repeated low-dose exposure.
The recalled items include Shrimp Bowl Cooked Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce (7 oz), UPC 011110622952, lot code(s) 11325-H3A1, 11425-H3A1, 11525-H3A1, 11625-H3A1 (best by April 22–25, 2027); Shrimp Cocktail with Cocktail Sauce (17 oz), UPC 011110624840, lot code(s) 13725-H3A1, 13825-H3A1 (best by May 16–17, 2027); Kroger Cooked Jumbo Tail-On, Peeled & Deveined 16/25 Shrimp, UPC 011110649812, lot code(s) 11925-H3A1, 12025-H3A1 (best by April 28–29, 2027); and Kroger Cooked Medium Tail-On, Peeled & Deveined 51/60 Shrimp, UPC 011110967015, lot code(s) 12225-H3A1, 12325-H3A1 (best by May 1–2, 2027). These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in multiple states and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025; consumers should check their packaging for the above UPCs and lot code(s).
Consumers who have purchased the recalled shrimp should not consume it and may dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund; they may also request a refund or replacement from the retailer.
