Southwind Foods, LLC Recalls Frozen Shrimp Because of Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Southwind Foods, LLC of Carson, California, has recalled a limited quantity of frozen shrimp because of possible contamination with the radionuclide cesium-137 (Cs-137), which can increase long‑term cancer risk with repeated exposure. Consumers who purchased the affected products should not eat them and are advised to stop using the shrimp immediately to avoid potential health risks.

These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, distributors and wholesalers in multiple states and have been sold since July 17, 2025, with distribution through August 8, 2025.
