Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — The Kroger Co. has recalled Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley (48 oz and 16 oz) and Private Selection Frozen Blackberries (16 oz) because samples tested by the FDA have been found to be contaminated with Hepatitis A, a contagious liver virus. Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and not eat them; vulnerable individuals and anyone who has consumed the products should consult a health care professional about vaccination or treatment.
The recalled items are identified as: PRIVATE SELECTION FROZEN TRIPLE BERRY MEDLEY, 48 OZ (lot code(s): BEST BY 07-07-20; UPC: 0001111079120); PRIVATE SELECTION FROZEN TRIPLE BERRY MEDLEY, 16 OZ (lot code(s): BEST BY 06-19-20; UPC: 0001111087808); and PRIVATE SELECTION FROZEN BLACKBERRIES, 16 OZ (lot code(s): BEST BY 06-19-20, 07-02-20; UPC: 0001111087809). The products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers in the Kroger family of store banners and have been sold since June 19, 2020, through July 7, 2020, depending on the lot.
Kroger has removed affected items from store shelves and activated its customer recall notification system; consumers should return the products to a store for a full refund or request a replacement.
