Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Nirwana Foods of NJ has recalled its 28-ounce Golden Raisin pouches because they may contain undeclared sulfites, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to sulfite‑sensitive consumers; consumers who have this product should stop using it immediately and not eat it. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. The recall follows routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and laboratory analysis that detected sulfites in packages that were not labeled to indicate their presence.
The affected product is Golden Raisin, 28‑ounce clear plastic pouch, lot code(s) 24/351-2410, with an expiration date of Oct. 31, 2025, and UPC 712321993144. These pouches have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers, including Maharaja Super Market locations in New York and Villager Farmers Market stores in New York and New Jersey.
