Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Eureka Inc. of Pomona, Calif., has recalled Durra Ground Cinnamon 100 g plastic containers because samples have tested positive for elevated lead, posing a risk of lead poisoning; consumers should stop using the product immediately and not eat it. Short‑term low‑level exposure may be asymptomatic while higher or prolonged exposure can cause serious health effects — especially in children, who may suffer long‑term neurological damage — and anyone who has consumed the product should consult a healthcare provider about testing.

The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including grocery stores in California and Michigan, and has been sold since Aug. 24, 2024; sales continued through Oct. 6, 2025. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after the FDA collected samples that detected elevated lead levels and the company is continuing its investigation, including testing of raw materials.
