Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Hormel Foods Sales, LLC has recalled limited lots of two PLANTERS® nut products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious or fatal infections in vulnerable populations and pregnancy loss. Consumers who have the affected products should stop using them immediately and either discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange; no illnesses have been reported to date and the recall is being conducted with FDA knowledge.
The recalled items are 4 oz. packages of PLANTERS® Honey Roasted Peanuts (lot code(s): 2900002097; Best if Used By: 04 11 25) and 8.75 oz. cans of PLANTERS® Deluxe Lightly Salted Mixed Nuts (lot code(s): 2900001621; Best if Used By: 05APR26). These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including shipments to Publix and Dollar Tree distribution warehouses in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina, and have been sold since April 2024. No other sizes, varieties, or packaging configurations are included in this recall.
Consumers may dispose of the product or return it to the retailer for a full refund or replacement.
