Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — South Asian Food Inc. of Maspeth, Queens, N.Y., has recalled 12.34 oz (350 gm) packages of Bengal King Jhal Chanachur because they may contain undeclared peanuts, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reactions to individuals with peanut allergies; consumers who have peanut allergies should not eat the product and should stop using it immediately.
The recalled product is sold in clear plastic jars, 12.34 oz (350 gm), marked with lot code(s) B No.HCNCU1205/24 and an expiration date of June‑2026, UPC 8941153046243; these jars have been distributed nationwide online and at select U.S. retailers and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025. The recall follows routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and laboratory analysis that found peanut in packages without peanut labeling; to date no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.
