Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Jalux Americas, Inc. (dba J.sweets) of El Segundo, Calif., has recalled certain L’espoir Brand cookies because they may contain undeclared allergens that pose a serious health risk; L’espoir cookies have undeclared milk and Drycapot cookies have undeclared tree nuts (almond and macadamia). Consumers with allergies or severe sensitivities to milk or tree nuts should stop using these products immediately and not eat them, as they run the risk of a serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction. No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recalled items include L’espoir (lot code(s) L4FN; best before 09/26/2025; barcode 4 942737 200147) and Drycapot (lot code(s) D4FN; best before 09/26/2025; barcode 4 942737 210191), each packaged in a gold plastic bag containing five cookies. The products have been sold since May 26, 2025 (L’espoir) and May 31, 2025 (Drycapot) exclusively at J.sweets retail locations in Torrance and San Jose, Calif., Arlington Heights, Ill., and Lynnwood, Wash.; there were no online sales. The recall was initiated after an inventory audit found milk‑containing and tree nut‑containing products in packaging that did not declare those allergens.
Consumers who purchased L4FN or D4FN products with the 09/26/2025 best before date are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or to dispose of them immediately if returning is not practical.
