Thal Golden Spices Inc. Recalls Product Because of Possible Health Risk

Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Thal Golden Spices Inc. of Hayward, Calif., has recalled Bikano Moong Dal 350g because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause fever, diarrhea, vomiting and, in vulnerable individuals, serious or life‑threatening infections. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and not to eat it.

The recall applies to Bikano Moong Dal Plain, 350g packages with the best‑used‑by date June 25, 2025; identified lot code(s) are being provided by the company to retailers. The product have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers, primarily in California through retail stores; consumers should check package labeling for the best‑used‑by date and lot code(s) before handling.

Consumers should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund and may request a replacement if available.
