Raleigh, N.C., May 29, 2026 — Champion Foods LLC of New Boston, Mich., has voluntarily recalled certain lots of Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause severe illness in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and not to eat it.
The recall covers Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread Single Pack (UPC 8 70375 00511 1) and 2 Pack (UPC 8 70375 00509 8) with the following lot code(s) corresponding to sell-by dates printed in black inside the cheese bread image on the front: Single Pack sell-by dates 2/4/2027, 2/5/2027, 2/23/2027, 2/24/2027, 3/9/2027, 3/10/2027, 3/17/2027, 3/18/2027, 3/24/2027, 3/25/2027, 4/7/2027, 4/8/2027, 4/20/2027 and 4/21/2027; 2 Pack sell-by dates 2/3/2027, 2/4/2027, 2/24/2027, 2/25/2027, 3/10/2027, 3/11/2027, 3/18/2027 and 3/25/2027. Affected products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including major chains nationwide, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025.
Consumers who purchased affected lots should dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or request a replacement by contacting Champion Foods LLC at [email protected]; media inquiries to [email protected]. Consumers with health concerns should consult a healthcare provider. This recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; for further guidance or to confirm lot code information, consumers should check retailer notices or contact the company directly.
