Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 5, 2025 — Blue Ridge Beef has recalled approximately 5,700 pounds of its 2 lb Natural Mix pet food after laboratory testing confirmed Salmonella contamination, posing a risk of illness to pets and humans who handle the product; consumers should stop using the product immediately and do not feed it to pets. The company is advising anyone who has handled the product to wash hands thoroughly and monitor for symptoms; people who develop illness after contact should seek medical attention.
The recall affects Natural Mix, 2 lb packages, UPC 854298001054, lot code(s) N25/12/31 (lot codes are stamped on the clips at the ends of chubs/bags). The product has been sold since Jan. 3, 2025, online and at select U.S. retailers, primarily in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York State, Tennessee and Rhode Island, with distribution occurring through Jan. 24, 2025.
