Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 30, 2026 — Navitas Organics has voluntarily recalled select lots of its 8 oz Organic Chia Seeds because of possible Salmonella contamination, and consumers should stop using the affected product immediately and not eat it. The recall is a precaution following a supplier-initiated chia seed recall; the company says there have been no reports of Salmonella illness linked to these lots to date.
The recall applies to Navitas Organics — Organic Chia Seeds, 8 oz (UPC 858847000284) with the following lot code(s) printed on the back above the nutrition facts: W31025283 (Best If Used By: End APR 2027), W31025286 (End APR 2027), W31025287 (End APR 2027), W31025311 (End MAY 2027), W31025314 (End MAY 2027), W31025315 (End MAY 2027), W31025316 (End MAY 2027) and W31025317 (End MAY 2027). The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers, including Whole Foods Market, Target, Amazon, iHerb and Vitacost.com, and these lots have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025.
Consumers who have any of the listed lots should not consume the contents; they are asked to open the bag, discard the chia seeds and render the bag unusable, or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund. Customers seeking a replacement or who have questions may email [email protected] or call 855-215-5702, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET.
