Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Advantage Health Matters is recalling 8-ounce packages of "Organic Jumbo Pumpkin Seeds" because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, a pathogen that can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and serious invasive infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and should not eat the seeds; those who believe they may be ill after consuming the product should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider about possible Salmonella exposure.
The recalled product is sold in 8-ounce clear plastic packages marked with lot code(s) L250320200 and an expiration date of 05/02/2027. The seeds have been sold since Sept. 15, 2025 online and at select U.S. retailers in New York, New Jersey and Virginia through both retail stores and mail orders. Production has been suspended while the company investigates the source of the contamination, and no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.
Consumers who purchased 8-ounce "Organic Jumbo Pumpkin Seeds" are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of them safely; do not compost or feed to animals.
