Recall Details
Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 14, 2026 — Grimmway Farms has expanded a voluntary recall to include four additional bag sizes of organic whole carrots because the products may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19, a bacterium that can cause severe illness. Consumers who have the affected carrots should not eat them and should stop using them immediately to avoid risk of severe bloody diarrhea, hemolytic uremic syndrome, or other serious complications.
The recalled items include organic whole carrots sold under the Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic and Good & Gather labels with the following bag sizes and lot code(s): Bunny Luv — 1 lb, 2 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb, 25 lb, 50 lb (lot code(s) on package); Cal‑Organic — 1 lb, 2 lb, 5 lb, 6 lb, 10 lb, 15 lb, 25 lb, 50 lb (lot code(s) on package); Good & Gather — 1 lb, 2 lb (lot code(s) on package). These products have been sold online and at select U.S. retailers and have been on sale since Aug. 14, 2024; they were available at retail through Oct. 23, 2024.
Consumers who still have the recalled carrots should not consume them and should either return them to the place of purchase for a refund or dispose of them by sealing and discarding so they cannot be eaten; thoroughly clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that contacted the carrots. To request a refund or replacement or for more information, contact Grimmway Farms customer service at 1‑866‑912‑9552 (Sun–Sat, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET) or email [email protected]. If lot codes or other identifying information are not available on your package, consumers should follow the return or disposal guidance above and check the company website for updates.
