Portland, Ore., April 10, 2024 — Oregon Spice Company has recalled Johnny’s Parmesan Garlic Seasoning 5 oz. because it may contain undeclared sesame, posing a risk of serious or life‑threatening allergic reaction to consumers with sesame allergy or severe sensitivity; consumers who have purchased the product should not eat it and should stop using it immediately. No illnesses have been reported to date, and the recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The affected item is labeled Johnny’s Parmesan Garlic 5 oz. in a plastic spice bottle with a green cap and bears ink‑jet lot code(s) BB 04MAR26 0644 19:48 to 21:41 on the bottom of the bottle. The product has been sold online and at select U.S. retailers — including Fred Meyer, QFC, Albertson’s and Safeway — and through Amazon.com and orders placed at johnnysfinefoods.com, and have been sold since Sept. 15, 2023.
